Secretary General's Office

The Secretary General’s Office at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) ensures the efficient, transparent, and well-coordinated functioning of the university’s administrative and governance processes. 

As a central administrative body, the Office oversees and harmonizes the work of all university units, ensuring that institutional policies and procedures are applied consistently and effectively. It supports the Rectorate, academic and administrative staff, and students by providing reliable organizational, legal, and procedural guidance. 

 

The Secretary General’s Office plays a vital role in maintaining good governance, promoting accountability, and fostering a professional environment built on trust, cooperation, and mutual respect. 

Through its work, the Office contributes to the overall mission of IUS - to provide quality education, encourage research and innovation, and strengthen local and international partnerships. 

By coordinating administrative operations and facilitating communication between different segments of the university, the Secretary General’s Office helps create a supportive environment where every member of the IUS community can focus on academic excellence, creativity, and continuous improvement.

Scope of Activities

Administrative Coordination

Ensuring efficient and transparent day-to-day operations by harmonizing the work of all administrative units across the university

Governance Support

Providing procedural and logistical support to the Rectorate, Senate, and other university bodies in preparing and implementing official decisions and regulations

Policy Implementation & Compliance

Overseeing the consistent application of university policies, internal acts, and procedures in line with legal and accreditation standards

Institutional Communication

Facilitating smooth communication between academic and administrative departments to promote collaboration and operational coherence

Human Resources & Legal Affairs Liaison

Cooperating with HR and Legal Offices on staff appointments, contracts, and compliance matters within the university’s governance framework

Documentation & Record Management

Maintaining and safeguarding official university records, decisions, and archives to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and accessibility

Support for Strategic and Operational Planning

Assisting in institutional planning, resource management, and organizational development to align administrative processes with IUS goals

Quality Assurance and Process Improvement

Promoting best practices in administration, encouraging innovation, and supporting continual improvement in institutional performance

Representation & Institutional Development

Representing the university administration in internal and external settings and contributing to the advancement of IUS governance and partnerships
